Healthcare copywriting
Whether you’re reaching out to patients or clinicians, your message needs to be clear and concise. You can’t risk confusion, ambiguity or, worse still, misinformation.
As an experienced healthcare copywriter, I can help you with engaging, accessible content for both patient and clinical audiences.
Clinically precise and engaging content
If you work in healthcare communications, you’ll know how hard it can be to strike the right tone. Marketing content often falls into two traps: overwhelming readers with technical detail or oversimplifying the message and losing accuracy.
That’s where I can help. As an experienced healthcare copywriter, I create content that finds the right balance – clinically accurate, but always clear and engaging.
From dementia care to diabetes management and mental health, I’ve written on a wide range of topics. I also understand the strict regulations around healthcare marketing. So, your healthcare copywriting will be in good hands.
An experienced healthcare copywriter
Over the past 10 years, I’ve written for all kinds of healthcare professionals and organisations – including:
- Health Education England
- medical diagnostics companies
- clinical trials teams
- the National Institute for Healthcare Research (NIHR)
- NHS research studies.
I’ve crafted content for doctors, consultants, allied healthcare professionals and patients. Alongside my work as a healthcare copywriter, I’m also involved in PPI (public-patient involvement) research and I’ve helped with communications on numerous NHS, NIHR and NICE research studies.

Sensitively written and empathetic words
With my background as a healthcare copywriter, I have particular expertise in writing content aimed at patient audiences – and I’ve worked with numerous healthcare organisations on recruitment materials for clinical trials, research studies and surveys.
For example, I provided website content and social media advice for a NICE-commissioned UK acne research study. The study achieved exceptional recruitment rates, largely due to the success of the social media campaign.

Projects I've supported as a healthcare copywriter
- Editing content and providing social media advice for a nationwide eczema study
- Drafting communications materials to promote clinical trials recruitment
- Communications advice for a research study on skin conditions and skin tone
- Designing and delivering social media training for the National Institute of Healthcare Research (NIHR)
- Drafting marketing materials for a national study looking at the role of community pharmacists in treating skin conditions.
My copy makeover (Before and after)
Below is a short extract of content I wrote for a care firm that supports children who’ve experienced trauma and severe challenges in their lives.

National Institute for Healthcare Research
I designed and delivered a two-hour training session on social media marketing for the National Institute for Healthcare Research (NIHR). This focused on how to use social media to encourage greater public involvement in healthcare research, particularly Facebook and Instagram. I showed how Instagram Reels, Stories and video could be used effectively to raise awareness about volunteering opportunities on clinical trials.

Healthcare copywriting for Salisbury Hospice Charity
I produced the main website content for Salisbury Hospice Charity’s new website. This included creating an information hub on the hospice for patients and their families – with details about palliative care, therapies, accommodation and hospice-at-home service.
The content needed to explain the hospice’s services in an empathetic and reassuring way for patients and their families.

Beaufort Care Group
I’ve produced every page of content for Beaufort Care Group’s (BCG) new website. BCG provides high-quality residential care for children and young people with complex needs.
I worked closely with the team to ensure that the content reflected the unique strengths of their eight residential homes and supported accommodation across the south of England.

eIntegrity (Health Education England)
For eight years, I supported eIntegrity and Health Education England in taking NHS e-learning to an international market – a mission where the profits are reinvested in our UK health services.
When I first joined, NHS e-learning was being licensed in just a handful of countries. Now, it’s used in over 100.
I built the website from the ground up, led targeted email campaigns, and created content that connected with prospective healthcare partners around the world. My articles were picked up by the NHS and the Royal College of Anaesthetists, helping raise the profile of eIntegrity far beyond the UK.
I also helped launch their social media presence – laying the foundations for long-term engagement with healthcare professionals around the world.
